Architectural Favorite

This barn is one of my favorites due to it's unusual architectural design.

It sits near one of the roads that I take to visit my Mom.

The way part of it is built into the hill makes it all the more special.

I wish I knew more about it's history. How old is it? Who built it? Where were they from? Was it similar to the barns from where they were born? So many questions. If only these old places could talk.

  2. that is a gorgeous barn. have you been by the star barn lately? I just drove by it last weekend for the first time in years and it was a sad sight. starting to fall apart a bit and surrounded by crappy new house construction.

  3. I was just talking about the Star Barn today with my daughter, as she drives by it to go to work. I haven't seen it in a couple of years. How sad to hear it's not doing well. Such a treasure. I really should get some shots of it before it's gone.

  5. This barn looks as though it has sprouted out of the earth like a red toadstool. So beautiful!

  7. You can contact the local historical society and they will be able to answer many of your questions about the barn.

Funny to hear that you have a Star Barn near you.... there was one close to where I live, but it was moved to a new location to keep it from being torn down.

    Love the picture!
